# Finn Bálor vs. Damian Priest

* Damian Priest wants to ensure that his name lives forever, and he’ll try to do so at Finn Bálor’s expense come NXT TakeOver: In Your House, as first announced on The Pat McAfee Show.
The Prince’s world was thrown upside-down last month when he was assaulted backstage by an unknown assailant, preventing him from taking on The Velveteen Dream that night. It also sent Bálor on a furious search for the identity of his attacker.
The answer to the whodunit was delivered in brutal fashion. Priest not only cost Bálor his match against Cameron Grimes with a devastating nightstick blow, but he also left him lying with the Reckoning before declaring he was the man who took him out.
It’s not mere bloodlust driving Priest, however. The Archer of Infamy spoke reverently of Bálor’s role in building NXT, particularly his legacy at TakeOver — and explained that’s exactly why he targeted him.
Priest will have to be on his A-game and then some to accomplish his goal. Bálor owns a nearly pristine record on NXT’s grandest stage with wins over some of the biggest names in the black-and-gold brand’s history.
As he says, you come at The Prince, you best not miss — a lesson learned by many before Priest. Will The Archer of Infamy be the latest?

# Kurt Angle to referee Cage Fight between Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher this Wednesday

* Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher are stepping into the cage, and Kurt Angle will be joining them. The WWE Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medalist will serve as special guest referee for The Original Bro’s Cage Fight against Thatcher this Wednesday night on NXT.
Thatcher debuted as Riddle’s partner in place of Pete Dunne, who was unable to appear to defend the NXT Tag Team Championship. Riddle & Thatcher seemed to catch lightning in a bottle, fending off The Undisputed ERA’s Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong to retain the titles.
But The Newly-Bros imploded in less than a month and lost the titles to Imperium, with Riddle’s easy-going demeanor apparently driving Thatcher mad. The Original Bro craftily rolled up Thatcher two weeks ago to win their first bout against each other, though the tension was far from settled.
Thatcher called for a match that could only be won by knockout or tap-out. Riddle one-upped him, proposing that they meet inside a cage. But what kind of a cage exactly does Riddle — who is familiar with fighting inside chain link as a former UFC welterweight — have in mind? And what sort of impact might Angle have?
Find out when it all goes down Wednesday night at 8/7 C

# NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Io Shirai (Triple Threat Match)

* Rhea Ripley wants another chance against Charlotte Flair, and Io Shirai wants the opportunity she believes she’s still owed.
Both will get their wish. As first reported by TV Guide, Charlotte will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Ripley and Shirai in a Triple Threat Match at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
Ripley and Flair tore down the house at WrestleMania in the first-ever match with an NXT title on the line at the Grandest Stage of Them All. But The Queen parlayed her experience advantage into victory to become NXT Women’s Champion for the first time in five years.
Meanwhile, Shirai deservingly earned the right to challenge Flair by overcoming five other women in a Ladder Match. The Evil Genius of the Sky may have given Charlotte more than she bargained for, as The Queen got herself disqualified during their title tilt, brutalizing Shirai with a Kendo stick until Ripley intervened.
The Joshi Judas wasn’t all that thankful for Ripley getting involved, however, and both saw the other as standing between them and the championship. The Queen took advantage of the turmoil, laying them out during their one-on-one bout.
Charlotte stood tall over both foes on that occasion, but in a match where she doesn’t have to be pinned or submitted to lose the title, can she preserve her reign over NXT?

# Adam Cole to have live negotiation with William Regal regarding The Velveteen Dream

* Convincing Adam Cole to postpone his own celebration is no easy task, but The Velveteen Dream seems to have accomplished it.
Cole, who was planning on commemorating one full year as NXT Champion this Wednesday, altered course and posted a short video to Twitter, wherein he demanded a live negotiation with NXT General Manager William Regal and laid out his plans to “make sure The Velveteen Dream disappears forever!”
Regal has since accepted Cole’s proposal, but what exactly does the NXT Champion have in mind? Will His Purple Highness be far behind? Find out on the black-and-gold brand Wednesday at 8/7
